About Project Gold

Project Gold is a celebration of the female body and an exaltation of the source of human life. A significant departure from Artist Michal “FreakOne” Handke’s usual creative mediums, Project Gold uses the canvas of a model’s semi-naked body to express ideas of femininity, beauty and motherhood. 
 
The project was originally dreamed up by the Model, Jolene, a close friend of and manager to the Artist. She says, “In 2022 I told the Huddersfield based Polish Artist, FREAKone, that I wanted him to give me gold breasts. It took him nearly a year to really get on board with the idea, but when he did, he ran with it and he was so professional.
 
My reasons for wanting to see this project manifest were numerous. For starters, I can be a bit of an exhibitionist at times, and I enjoy being a Muse to Artists. I also wanted to glorify my breasts because they, at one time, fed my baby. And because, let’s face it, breasts can also be a source of pleasure. So why not have gold ones and immortalise mine? I’m super impressed with how FREAKone treated me with such respect and dignity during the session and I’m super proud of the results.”
 

FREAKone adorned Jolene’s upper body with 24 carat gold leaf to draw focus to her natural beauty, and by extension the beauty of all women’s bodies. 

The creative process began around 3 months before the photo-shoot took place. During this time FREAKone obtained the 24 carat gold leaf, secured a professional photographer, and began arranging the props to be used in the photoshoot, including an apple, flower petals, and colour powder from Ministry of Colours. 

Project Gold is a heartfelt honouring of the female form and a prayer of gratitude to womankind.
