neonlocust
neonlocust (aka Russ D Hunter) is a contemporary artist who uses a mixture of mediums and presentation styles to produce his artwork, giving a collage feel by layering images. You will often find several techniques and materials used in one image, each overlapping the other, creating a new separate image result.
neonlocust’s art crosses genres as he is also a performer, actor and musician with examples of film features on IMDb and the music video for the Hellhound film at the bottom of this page.
Although he works independently, he also likes to collaborate with other artists, pooling each of their strengths and creating a strong bond within the local art community.
He has been involved in several workshops and many exhibitions in Huddersfield, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Edinburgh and London, and he wishes to continue exploring places where he can display his art.
A recent commission included another of his interests; helping his local community by creating a series of food hack/tip recipe cards which he illustrated and were printed by Dalton Together for Kirklees residents. The project was endorsed by the Mayor of West Yorkshire.
With a belief that art is for everyone and that we can all improve our health and wellbeing by doing
something creative, even if that means just using scrap or recycled materials to make something new.
