Reiki Sessions with Jolene
Reiki is a Japanese Healing Technique that supports physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Reiki promotes deep relaxation and it can be hugely beneficial for both humans and animals. Jolene’s sessions last 30 minutes or 1 hour and take place in a lovely, tranquil environment. Distance healing is also available.
Jolene trained with Chris Krow Summers at ‘LifeForce Reiki’ (based in Wakefield) between 2004 and 2017. She is trained to the 3rd and final level; Reiki Master Teacher.
Location: 10-15 minute walk from Huddersfield train station and bus station.

Busking
You no longer need to buy a license to ‘busk’ in Kirklees. The council has scrapped the license requirement, but performers must still follow a code of conduct to ensure they don’t cause a nuisance, and they should consider the needs of the town. This includes not blocking pavements, not making too much noise, nor engaging in street trading, for which a separate permit is required.
Proper Job Theatre Company
Proper Job Theatre Company is an established theatre company based in Huddersfield dedicated to creating and touring new works and producing large-scale theatre events.
Beyond their creative productions, they run community initiatives like the LAB Project and Mastering The Game course, as well as other creative courses, workshops and bootcamps, which focus on nurturing local individuals, improving confidence, and helping people develop their skills to transition into employment and/or develop their practice within the creative industries.

Hive Huddersfield CIC
Hive Huddersfield CIC is an inter-generational well-being not for profit, supporting Hive Youth and adult well-being services:
- Hive Youth, which is peer-led, currently offers a welcoming safe space at Byram’s Café for LGBTQ+ people aged 16-21 years. No referral needed.
When: The sessions run bi-monthly on Tuesdays from 6pm – 8pm.

For these events, you should use the Station Road entrance located at the back of the arcade. - Hive Community runs a weekly over 55’s social and activity based service.

Growing Works
Growing Works is an outdoor wellbeing and social therapeutic horticulture charity. They use their dedicated allotment space in Dalton to help people tackle social isolation, manage physical or mental health challenges, build confidence, and connect with nature.
Instead of just standard fruit and vegetable growing, their sessions are fully holistic. They feature therapeutic gardening, healthy outdoor cooking, nature arts and crafts, foraging discovery walks, outdoor yoga, and bushcraft.

How to Find It: The entrance is fairly well hidden. You turn off Wakefield Road (A629) down an unnamed track situated right between 503 and 505 Wakefield Road, next to a small row of shops. As you enter, look out for their colourful graffiti mural painted onto a large green container in the parking area.

Huddersfield Mission & Cafe
A community cafe in the heart of Huddersfield town centre providing low-cost nutritious hot & cold food and drinks, and a welcoming space for anyone in the community.
